The Langen Foundation, located near Düsseldorf in the Hombroich cultural area, is a masterpiece of international museum architecture. A work of art in concrete, glass and steel, it was designed by world-famous star architect Tadao Ando to house the art collection of Viktor and Marianne Langen. The building has already been hailed by the press as 'Germany's most beautiful private museum'. Since 2004, it has been the premier venue for art exhibitions and a superb location for high-profile events such as cultural events, presentations, exhibitions and weddings.
Impressive architecture for stylish events
The exhibition centre consists of two distinct, interconnected buildings. Tadao Ando deliberately built two-thirds of the volumes of Modern 1 and Modern 2, with a room height of 8 metres, deep into the ground. The central idea was to embed the buildings into the surrounding landscape. Modern 1 is the largest room and is directly connected to Modern 2, underneath the galleries of Modern 3. The Japan Room is an elongated building with a circumferential gallery that provides an unobstructed view of the landscape through large expanses of glass.
State-of-the-art event technology
In addition to the structural quality of the Langen Foundation, the rooms offer all the prerequisites for the use of state-of-the-art event technology. The catering area is easily accessible via an external lift. The total number of guests in the building is limited to 500 and all rooms can be hired individually or in combination.

The Langen Foundation is first and foremost an art centre. And art can be found here at all times, in every room. The Langen Foundation hosts two temporary art exhibitions a year, while the rest of the time the non-European or Japanese art of the Langen family can be admired. The architecture of the Langen Foundation buildings alone is impressive.
