The location with history
The ZOLLVEREIN Grand Hall has been meticulously renovated according to the exacting standards of sustainable construction and in keeping with its heritage status. Formerly a suction and compressor hall with an associated switchgear house, the historic ensemble now combines powerful industrial culture with the modern demands of a top-class event location in a very special way.
Multifunctional event location at the Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site
There were countless mines in the Ruhr region that are synonymous with an entire era. But to this day, there is only one mine that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site - the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex in Essen. With more than 1,500,000 visitors a year, it is considered the ‘most beautiful colliery in the world’ and anyone who has ever visited the site will agree with this statement. The designation of the disused colliery and coking plant as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001 was also the starting signal for the further expansion of the entire site. The ZOLLVEREIN Grand Hall was added at the end of 2016 as a multifunctional event location that meets all the requirements of a state-of-the-art event hall.

Plenty of room for your ideas
The daylight-flooded rooms are equipped with the latest event technology and can accommodate from 25 to 2,500 people. Rooms from 25 square metres in size can be combined or divided to create individual spaces. Anything is possible at the ZOLLVEREIN Grand Hall.
