A Magical 11 Years – the „Ordens wider den tierischen Ernst“ Award Ceremony

The annual gala hosted by the Aachen Carnival Association to present the „Ordens wider den tierischen Ernst“ – often referred to as the “Bambi Awards of Carnival” – is always a truly special occasion for us. As the exclusive catering partner of Eurogress Aachen, we were delighted to cater for around 900 guests at the prestigious gala session in the Europa Hall for the 11th time. And once the official ceremony came to an end, the celebrations were far from over: the evening continued with an after-show party featuring a VIP area and live food stations, lasting well into the early hours.

From an organisational perspective, this carnival highlight was a major logistical achievement. Working alongside a large team of chefs and logistics specialists, 85 service staff ensured that the distinguished audience at the Aachen Congress Centre was looked after to the highest standard throughout the evening. Thanks to advance pre-orders, guests were able to enjoy ice-cold drinks and selected snacks waiting for them at their seats upon arrival.

Broadcast live on television as every year, the 76th ceremony delivered everything carnival enthusiasts could wish for. Comedian and carnival favourite Guido Cantz hosted the evening alongside the new AKV President, Dr André Freese, guiding the audience through the programme with wit, strong local flair, and an authentic carnival atmosphere. The line-up also included high-profile political speakers, prominent guests and an outstanding mood throughout the hall. At the heart of the evening was Dorothee Bär: the CSU politician and Federal Minister for Research, Technology and Space accepted the coveted „Ordens wider den tierischen Ernst“ with visible emotion.

Musically, Cologne cult band Kasalla energised the audience before The 4 Amigos delivered spine-tingling moments. Pure carnival spirit – from the very first minute to the last.
